Ευρωπαϊκό Δίκτυο των οργανισμών των
επαγγελματιών για την ασφάλεια & υγεία (ENSHPO)
The European Network for
Safety and Health Professional Organisations (ENSHPO) was established in
2001. The members of the network are Safety and Health Professional /
Practitioners Organisations from the current European Union Member
States, new Member States, applicant countries and other European
countries and the network welcomes associated members/observers from the
Enlargement Group as well as from the European Economic Area, EFTA etc.
In order to organise and manage the network, ENSHPO has developed a
structure on the basis of National Forums (NF) ; these NF´s organise and
manage their national network of Safety and Health Professional
Organisations and represent this national network on the European-level.
CySHA joined ENSHPO in March
2003 and since then it is actively involved in the activities of the
organisation. In February 2005, CySHA hosted in Limassol the 9th Meeting
of ENSHPO that dealt mainly with the issue of the mutual recognition of
qualifications in health & safety in Europe. The co – coordinator of the
relevant Working Party and the Treasure of the Network is CySHA’s ex
President Mr. Athos Charalambous.
1. Aims of ENSHPO
1.1 To ensure participation
from all safety and health practitioner organisations across the whole of
Europe and to involve such organisations in the network’s activities.
1.1.1 Safety and Health
Practitioner organisations will be defined on the basis of what is meant
by a practitioner and this definition will be clearly described by the
network.
1.2 The network will
establish itself as a dialogue partner for the relevant National as well
as International authorities. In addition, it will co-operate with other
organisations, federations, and institutions at European and
international level, including the European Agency for Safety and Health
at Work.
1.3 The network will be a
forum by which information, experience and good practice on a wide variety
of topics can be exchanged including:
- Trying to accurately and
clearly understand the role of the safety and health practitioner in
each country
- Identifying common
objectives
- Identifying the needs of
safety and health practitioners
- Addressing issues
affecting global safety and health practitioners
- Training issues
1.4 The network should
consider:
- Arranging mini symposia at
European conferences and exchanging information on common interests,
leading onto organising high quality international conferences for
safety and health practitioners.
- Organising workplace study
exchange visits
- Developing Europe-wide
mutual recognition of health and safety practitioner qualifications and
training
- The feasibility of
developing a European recognised occupational safety and health (OSH)
qualification with a minimum standard for safety and health
practitioners.
