Ο Σύνδεσμος Ασφάλειας και Υγείας Κύπρου διοργανώνει το 9ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο SFESE.

 

Το Συνέδριο, θα διεξαχθεί στο Συνεδριακό Κέντρο Φιλοξενία στις 21 Οκτωβρίου 2017 και έχει ως θέμα:

 

«Εκτίμηση και Διαχείριση Κινδύνων σε Κρίσιμες Υποδομές»

 

«Risk Assessment and Management in Critical Infrastructures»

 

Το Συνέδριο έχει τεθεί υπό την αιγίδα της Υπουργού Εργασίας, Πρόνοιας και Κοινωνικών Ασφαλίσεων και απευθύνεται σε Επαγγελματίες στον Τομέα της Ασφάλειας και Υγείας, Μηχανικούς, κ.α.

 

Έγκριτοι Επιστήμονες και Επαγγελματίες στην Ασφάλεια και Υγεία τόσο από την Κύπρο όσο και από το εξωτερικό θα καλύψουν θέματα σε σχέση με το νομοθετικό πλαίσιο που διέπει την ασφάλεια και υγεία σε κρίσιμες υποδομές, τις νέες μεθόδους και τεχνολογίες σε σχέση με τη διερεύνηση περιστατικών, καθώς και πρακτικά παραδείγματα που αφορούν στις διαδικασίες εκτίμησης και διαχείρισης των κινδύνων με ειδικές αναφορές σε χερσαίες και υπεράκτιες εγκαταστάσεις.

Athanasios Sfetsos

Dr. Athanasios Sfetsos, received a B.Sc. in Physics from University of Patras in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London (1999). He is a Researcher at the Institute of Nuclear and Radiological Sciences, Technology Energy and Safety at NCSR Demokritos and research collaborator with the Centre for Security Studies. His research interests are related to the impacts of climate change and Critical Infrastructure protection. He has co-authored more than 150 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has participated in more than 20 EU and nationally funded projects and currently is the coordinator of EU-CIRCLE.

Themistoclis Kyriacou

Themistoclis Kyriacou is a Chemical Engineer and since 1993 he is working at the Department of Labour Inspection. His current position is Senior Labour Inspection Officer and his duties focus on the enforcement of legislation for Occupational Safety and Health, Seveso Directive and Offshore Safety Directive.  The enforcement of the legislation includes legislation drafting, process safety and loss prevention, emergency preparedness and loss prevention, Major Accident Preventive Policy (evaluation), Safety Report (evaluation), Safety Management System (evaluation), Land Use Planning (Create policy, issuing criteria, implementation of the policy), Inspections etc. Themistoclis Kyriacou is the Representative of Cyprus to the Committee of Competent Authorities for implementation of the SEVESO III Directive, the Representative of Cyprus to the Committee of Competent Authorities for implementation of the Offshore Safety Directive and the Representative of Cyprus to the European Union Offshore Oil and Gas Authorities Group (EUOAG) (a forum for the exchange of experiences and expertise both amongst national authorities and between national authorities and the Commission on all issues relating to major accident prevention and response in offshore oil and gas operations within the Union, as well as beyond its borders, where appropriate.

Carolina Ortega

Carolina Ortega is Manager for Social Performance and, EHS for Cyprus and New Ventures at Noble Energy, Inc. She has over 15 years of experience in Corporate Social Responsibility in the consumer products and oil and gas industries. She has been working in oil and gas and EHS-related issues for the last 10 years. Carolina has a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York, and a graduate Certificate from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. She received her B.A. from Smith College in Massachusetts. She has lived and worked for companies in Geneva, Sao Paulo, New York, Chicago, and Houston.

Christiana Kenta

 Christiana Kenta holds a BSc. in Physics from the University of Cyprus and a MSc. in Environmental Engineering and Business Management from the Imperial College London. Since 2013, Ms. Kenta has been employed at Noble Energy International Ltd providing dedicated Cyprus-based Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) support to execute the anticipated permitting and regulatory compliance work required to support hydrocarbons operations and related activities. She has been involved in implementing the EHS program for drilling operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Previously, she was employed as an EIA specialist focusing on regulatory compliance and preparation of relevant EHS plans.

Dr. Bahman Abdolhamidzadeh

Senior Safety Consultant and Trainer with an extensive history of providing services for the oil & energy industry. Skilled in Hazard and Risk Assessment, Emergency Response Planning, and HAZOP Study. Strong Engineering skills with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Process Safety from Sharif University of Technology. Extensive experience in project management and leading 

Dr. Prodromos Psarropoulos

Dr. Psarropoulos is a Structural and Geotechnical Engineer with a balanced scientific and professional experience in the analysis and design of various structures and geostructures during the last 20 years. After his Ph.D. on Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), he conducted advance research in various institutes in Greece and Italy, while he has been an adjunct Associate Professor of Geophysics and Earthquake Engineering in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering of the Hellenic Air-Force Academy. In parallel, he has been involved (as a consultant engineer) in the design and construction of various challenging engineering projects in Greece and abroad. His expertise is on Geotechnics, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, including mainly: (a) problems of static and dynamic soil-structure interaction (such as foundations, retaining structures, pipelines, etc.), (b) static and seismic stability assessment of slopes and embankments, and (c) numerical simulation of dynamic soil response (i.e. local site effects and microzonation studies). Currently, he is teaching Geotechnical Engineering at NTUA, while he has been a lead member of the team of experts for the quantitative geohazard assessment and the seismic design of two major high-pressure gas pipelines in south-east Europe (IGI-Poseidon and TAP).

Vasileios Peppas

Vasileios Peppas is the Industrial Safety Director of ERGONOMIA S.A. He is a Chemical and Process Engineer (MEng) and holds a Master of Science in Engineering Degree (MSc. ENG) in Process Safety and Loss Prevention awarded by the University of Sheffield in the UK. He is an Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (AMIChemE) in UK. Vasileios has 15 years industrial and process safety experience and as Director of the Industrial Safety Department oversees a Multidisciplinary team of 15 engineers that have undertaken hundreds of Process and Occupational Safety studies in all industrial sectors, across Greece, Cyprus, the Balkans, Russia, Turkey, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Vasileios is a qualified HAZOP and LOPA Leader and has chaired numerous sessions for revalidation of existing and design of new installations in Oil & Gas, Energy, Cement and Food industrial facilities.

Tassos Gregoriou

 Tassos Gregoriou graduated from Youngstown State University (USA), with the BS degree in Electrical Engineering (Magna Cum laude). He is holding also the Higher Technical Institute (HTI) Diplomas in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.  He is also an MBA graduate from Henley Management College, UK. After a six year career in the private sector, he joined the Electricity Authority of Cyprus in 1989, where he is currently holding the title of Distribution System Operator Manager and he is the acting Executive Manager of the Networks Business Unit.  He worked mainly with the introduction and implementation of new technology, the writing of technical specifications, and the management of projects. Besides his new managerial duties, he is currently working on the transformation of the networks, emanating from the restructuring of the electricity market and its new challenging requirements. He was a member of many EAC working groups, aiming at the corporate business development and the transformation or reengineering of EAC. His latest mission on corporate development was the functional unbundling and transformation of EAC in the new electricity market, as a member of the corporate team.

He participated in various international conferences, as EAC delegate or speaker. He is a member of various teams of EURELECTRIC and a member of the Cyprus National Mirror Committee of CENELEC.
